Aliso Canyon Road near Wheeler Canyon, Ventura County, California
A series of incidents along Aliso Canyon Road and Wheeler Canyon Road near the ruined Billiwhack Dairy made local Los Angeles Times headlines. Multiple unnamed hikers and Santa Paula High School students reported being terrorized by the creature for hours at a time. A landowner reportedly held off a group of 43 monster-seeking youths with a shotgun, and a young boy was found en route to the dairy 'carrying a sword off to slay the beast.' Witnesses described 50-pound rocks being thrown at parked cars and fist-sized dents pounded into hoods. The 1964 wave remains the most thoroughly documented period in the Billiwhack tradition.

Aliso Canyon near abandoned Billiwhack Dairy, Santa Paula, Ventura County, California
A nine-year-old boy exploring near the abandoned Billiwhack Dairy in Aliso Canyon was reportedly attacked by a tall, muscular gray-black-furred hominid with ram-like horns and an elongated muzzle. The creature clawed the boy across his arms and back before he escaped. The injuries were attributed by his family to the encounter and the account triggered the first wave of regional Billiwhack Monster reports. Local rumor connected the creature to alleged secret experiments conducted at the dairy during World War II by its German-born founder August Rubel.
