Brosno Dragon Sightings

3 documented sightings across Lake Brosno, Tver Region, Russia.

  1. Lake Brosno, Andreapol district, Tver Region, Russia

Fishermen from the village of Andreapol reported that a large creature had bitten through a fishing net and taken a substantial catch overnight, leaving behind a section of netting with tears consistent with a very large-jawed animal. Two witnesses claimed to have seen a dark humped shape moving across the lake's surface at dawn before submerging. The incident prompted a brief police investigation that found no explanation for the net damage.

A Kosmopoisk research association expedition accompanied by journalists from the Tver regional newspaper Karavan conducted echo-sounding of Lake Brosno. Expedition coordinator Vadim Chernobrov reported to Moscow's Argumenty i Facty newspaper: 'Echo deep sounding registered an anomaly. There was a huge jelly-like mass of a railway car size hanging five meters above the bottom.' Separately, local fishermen described a creature with a long neck and horse-like head that had capsized a rowboat the previous summer.

  3. Lake Brosno, Andreapol district, Tver Region, Russia

A Moscow family vacationing at Lake Brosno photographed a blurry but large elongated object swimming at distance in a calm section of the lake. The photograph was submitted to local newspapers and circulated regionally. Witnesses on the shore described the object as dark, smoothly surfaced, and moving at speed inconsistent with a log or waterfowl. The image rekindled interest in the lake's long tradition of monster sightings.
